Marvel vs DC — 2 Fanboys Enter, 1 Fanboy leaves!

It seems I have had this really bad pain in my ass recently. I went to the proctologist, thinking ass cancer, and I discovered it was just Clay, nagging me about my latest post.

So here I am, posting. So get off my back!

This will be entirely by memory. I re-read both of these books a month or so ago.

Let me start with the Marvel - House of M book. Ok… Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlett Witch, goes apeshit and disassembles the Avengers. (That is for another discussion) Wanda has some stupid reality altering power, she messes everyone up, kills some heroes, and after being ‘defeated’, she is taken by her daddy, Magneto.

Part 1: This book shows Magneto and Professor X trying to get control of her. Professor X states that he can’t keep her under control. Quicksilver acts like a bitch as usual. Professor X sets up a meeting with Wolverine’s teams, The Avengers and the X-Men. They discuss what to do about her. To sum this up, they head to Genosha, or the Genosha pile of rubble to apprehend her, only to discover that Wanda is missing. Suddenly, the members of the group start to disappear one by one. Spidey is soon the only one left and becomes engulfed by a white light…

Oooooh… a white light!

Part 2: Wolverine awakens to a…. yup you guessed… altered reality. Spider-Man is married to Gwen Stacy in New York; Cyclops and Emma Frost are married; Dr. Strange is a psychologist; Carol Danvers—known usually as Ms. Marvel—is now Captain Marvel, America’s most beloved superhero; Gambit is a criminal; and Steve Rogers is an aged veteran. Wolverine is now in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s House of Magnus Red Guard, and wakes up onboard a helicarrier sleeping next to Mystique. Wolverine REMEMBERS!! Dun Dun DUN!!!!!

Wolverine tries to contact his teammates in the Avengers and the X-Men, only to find that they do not remember. He manages to fight off his Red Guard pals, and get’s rescued by the “Human Resistance Movement”, led by Luke Cage. He tells them the story, blah blah. A young Layla Miller somehow can show people the ‘real’ world. One by one, Wolverine and the “Human Resistance Movement” ‘awaken’ the Avengers and X-Men.

One awakening really hit me below the belt. Spider-man’s life in this world was almost perfect. He had a wife, kids, his family, etc. When he was shown that this wasn’t real, and he saw what was the ‘real’ world, Uncle Ben dead, Gwen Stacey dead, etc., he almost breaks down.

Ok, so, this is where it gets dumb. They heroes head to Genosha, which is a mutant heaven, and where Magneto is King of the world. They accuse Magneto of doing all this, only to find out that Quicksilver was responsible for manipulating his sister’s power.

Wanda appears and with four words, “Daddy… No More Mutants”, things begin to break down and everything burns out to white once again.

Peter Parker wakes up confused with Mary Jane Watson at his side. Together with the Avengers, they try to make sense of what happened that night (some of them remember, others do not), only to be confronted by a distraught Doctor Strange who states that the House of M really took place and its effects are slowly being felt on a wider scale. Long story short, almost all of the mutants have lost their powers. Only 198 mutants are left… that’s it. That is kind of cheap. The End.

DC Fail

OK so I got this domain thinking there would be some DC/Marvel debating. I can’t seem to get Todd to post cause he’s too busy…not sure what he’s doing. He was cataloging his midget porn by height but I thought he was done.
